More than 750 early career scientists submitted oral or poster presentations to the IPY Oslo Science Conference. Twelve of them received awards for outstanding presentations.

“Before I announce the winners, I would like to congratulate all the early career scientists on their presentations. Many of the judges and convenors have commented to me throughout this process on the high quality of the presentations, and said that it was a tough job deciding on the winners,” said Jennifer Provencher, chair of the awards committee, as she presented the outstanding presentation awards at the closing ceremony of IPY-OSC.

Six themes, 12 winners

More than 750 early career scientists had submitted both oral and poster presentations on the six themes of IPY-OSC. The presentations were judged by the session conveners, who are all experts in their particular themes.
