Longyearbyen, Svalbard, is an exciting place for permafrost scientists in both the academic and engineering communities to visit due to it being completely underlain by continuous permafrost. Immediately after IPY-OSC Third European Conference on Permafrost (EUCOP III) will be held on Svalbard (13-17 June 2010)
